Blaster
Create a Blast
Step-by-step guide to creating and sending a WhatsApp broadcast campaign.
Video Walkthrough
How To Create a Blast Campaign
- Go to Blaster from the sidebar.
- Click + New Campaign.
- Give your campaign a name (e.g., "Raya Promo 2026" or "March Follow-Up").
- Select a template - Choose an approved WhatsApp message template. If you don't have one yet, you'll need to create and get it approved in Meta Business Manager first.
- Fill in template variables - If your template has placeholders like
{{1}}for customer name, map them to the right contact fields. - Choose your audience - Select which contacts will receive the blast (see below).
- Set pacing - Configure how fast messages are sent (see below).
- Review & send - Double-check everything, then hit send.
Choosing Your Audience
You have a few ways to select who receives your blast:
- All contacts - Send to everyone in your contact list.
- By label - Target contacts with specific labels (e.g., "VIP Customer", "Hot Lead").
- Manual selection - Pick individual contacts from your list.
- Import - Upload a list of phone numbers.
Segment your audience using labels before blasting. Sending a "VIP Exclusive Offer" to your VIP-labelled contacts feels personal. Sending the same message to everyone feels spammy.
Pacing Settings
Pacing controls how fast your messages go out. This matters because:
- WhatsApp has rate limits. Sending too fast can hit your messaging tier limits.
- Replies come back. If you blast 5,000 people at once, you might get 500 replies in 10 minutes. Can your team handle that?
Choose a sending speed that matches your team's capacity. If you have AI Reply enabled, it can handle the incoming responses automatically.
Review Before Sending
Before you hit send, double-check:
- Template - Is it the right template? Are the variables mapped correctly?
- Audience - Are you sending to the right group? Check the contact count.
- Pacing - Is the sending speed reasonable for your team?
- Timing - Are you sending at a good time? Blasting at 3 AM probably isn't ideal.
Once a campaign starts processing, you cannot undo it. Messages that have been sent cannot be recalled. Always review carefully before sending.
Common Questions
No. Once a campaign is processing or completed, it cannot be edited. You can create a new campaign if you need to make changes.
Create a campaign targeting just yourself or a small test group (2-3 people). Check that the template renders correctly and the variables are filled in properly. Then create the real campaign for your full audience.
You won't be able to select it when creating a campaign. Templates must be approved by Meta before they can be used in Blaster.
Yes. Blaster works independently from the chatbot. However, having AI Reply enabled means incoming responses from your blast are handled automatically.
