Cloud API Errors

Common errors during WhatsApp Cloud API signup and how to fix them.

When you connect a device using Cloud API, ReplyLa opens Meta's Embedded Signup window. Most connection problems happen inside this window, not in ReplyLa itself. This page lists the errors you may see and how to fix them.

The signup process has four stages, and errors usually fall into one of them:

  1. Business Manager account - creating or selecting a Meta Business account.
  2. WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) - creating the WhatsApp account.
  3. Phone setup - adding your phone number.
  4. Phone verification - confirming the number with a code.

Business Manager Account Errors

ErrorWhat It MeansHow To Fix
"An error occurred while processing this request"A general processing failure.Use an active Facebook account. If it keeps happening, contact support.
Business creation limit reachedMeta limits how many Business Manager accounts one user can create.Use an existing Business account, or delete unused ones.
"Your Facebook account is too new"New accounts can't create a Business account right away.Wait a few hours, or use an older, established Facebook account.
Account flagged for unusual activityMeta detected suspicious activity on the account.Switch to a Facebook account in good standing.
"You're no longer allowed to use Facebook Products to advertise"The Facebook account has advertising restrictions.Use a Facebook account with no restrictions.
Payment account disabledThe linked payment account was disabled for suspected violations.Contact Meta Support to restore the account.
"A user can only create one business user at one time"You're trying to create two Business accounts at once.Use an existing Business Manager account instead.
Invalid business nameThe business name breaks Meta's naming rules.Rename it following Meta's business naming guidelines.

WhatsApp Business Account Errors

Missing admin permissionsYou don't have admin access to the selected Business account.Ask for admin rights, or pick a Business account you already manage.
Verification requiredMeta limits how many WhatsApp accounts you can create before verification.Complete business verification in Business Manager first.
Account verification failedThe Business account doesn't meet WhatsApp API requirements.Check your verification status, review Meta's rejection email, and resubmit.
Generic system errorA temporary issue on Meta's side.Wait a few minutes and retry the signup.

Phone Setup Errors

ErrorWhat It MeansHow To Fix
"This phone number already exists in your list"The number is already added to your account.Restart the flow and select the existing number instead of adding it again.
Number already registered with WhatsAppThe number is in use on WhatsApp Messenger, the Business App, or another API.Deregister it from the existing app, or use a different number.
"Your verified name violates WhatsApp guidelines"The display name breaks WhatsApp's rules.Update the business name to follow WhatsApp display name policies.
Profile configuration issueBusiness profile details are incomplete or invalid.Re-enter your profile information following WhatsApp's standards.

Phone Verification Errors

ErrorWhat It MeansHow To Fix
Number already verifiedThe number is verified but the status hasn't refreshed.Refresh the page to update the verification status.
"Your phone number doesn't appear to be valid"The number format or provider isn't supported.Confirm the number is correct and supported by a valid telecom provider.
"You have guessed too many times"Too many wrong verification codes were entered.Wait 12 hours before trying again.
Verification failedNetwork issues, system delays, or a request timeout.Wait a moment and retry the verification.
"You have requested your code too many times"You asked for a new code too often.Wait for the cooldown period before requesting another code.
Try the signup in an incognito/private browser window while logged into the correct Facebook account. This avoids conflicts with other Facebook sessions and is the fastest fix for many signup errors.
